mv Marietje Deborah delivered
The third vessel in a series of four 8300 tons dry cargo vessels is delivered to her new owners DANSER VAN GENT M.D. II C.V.
After successful trials on the 12th of July 2011 the dry cargo vessel has been delivered to her owner. The MARIETJE DEBORAH’s homeport is Delfzijl, The Netherlands. The ship can be deployed for carrying all kinds of dry cargoes and containers. Due to the sailing areas in the Baltic and the Canadian lakes the vessel is equipped and strengthened for sailing in ice conditions
The vessel has been built for Wagenborg Shipping B.V. in combination with the captain/owner H.J. Danser from Delfzijl. Wagenborg Shipping B.V. will be responsible for the management and cargo brokerage/chartering of the vessel.

The vessel is propelled by a MAN Diesel engine, type 9L27/38, driving a controllable pitch propeller in a nozzle via a reduction gearbox. Diameter of the propeller is 3400 mm. The fuel of the main engine is HFO 380 cSt. The auxiliary engines and thermal oil boiler are running on gas oil.
This is a new type of vessel developed by Barkmeijer Shipyards and is characterized by a very efficient hull form with a relatively low fuel oil consumption per ton-mile The vessel has two holds: hold nr. 1 with a length of 21 meter and hold nr. 2 with a length of 68 meter. Hold nr. 2 is, also due to the tweendeck hatches, extremely suitable to carry project cargoes such as wind mills, large constructions for the offshore industry, cranes etc. compliant with the actual demand in the market.
Both holds are box shaped and fitted with bulkheads only in a longitudinal and athwart ship direction enabling a good stowage of, for instance, steel coils and paper rolls. The tweendeck hatches can be used as grain bulkheads as well.
The vessel is classified by Bureau Veritas with the following notation:
Class I + Hull + Mach general cargo ship Unrestricted navigation + AUT-UMS MON –SHAFT ICE CLASS 1A Heavy cargo [INNERBOTTOM 150 kN/m2].
The Marietje Andrea and Marietje Marsilla were the first in the series of four dry cargo vessels for Wagenborg Shipping B.V. in combination with the family Danser. The fourth sister ships will be delivered in 2014. Next to the production of the third vessel, the first out of three PILOT STATION VESSEL for "Het Nederlands Loodswezen" has started, expected deliveries for these three PSV's are August 2012, 2013 and 2014.
